Students do not promote to ESO and BAT by nature and sex
Sense lectura
Shows the distribution of students in the 4th year of ESO and/or 2nd year of Upper Secondary Education who do not pass, and therefore do not pass ESO or Upper Secondary Education (batxillerat). The data are shown in absolute numbers and percentages (hold the mouse over the bar), and disaggregated by sex and ownership of the center (public, subsidized or private). It is important to note that only data from municipalities that have secondary education centers are shown and that, especially in those cases where the municipality has several centers, the data do not allow differentiation by centers, but describe the entire student body of the municipality's centers. See the data sheet for more information.
Although technically the concept of “failure to promote” cannot be considered “dropout” or “school failure”, it is a useful proxy. On the other hand, it must be taken into account that students who do not pass have the option of repeating a grade. Higher numbers indicate a greater number of students who do not pass. For example, in a municipality where the data for the 4th year of ESO indicates “Women - Public - 42 (7.05%)”, we should read that in the municipality there are 42 women enrolled in public schools who have not promoted that year, representing 7.05% of the total number of women in public schools in that year and territory.
